    2007 discovery 3 after market multimedia/satnav issue

Hi All, I am in Melbourne, approximately 6 weeks ago I purchased the pioneer AVIC-F950DAB, I had it installed into our 2007 Land Rover Discovery 3SE, we are having an issue with the PIONEER unit in that it shuts down and reboots anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes after being switched on....I have had the the head unit replaced and the situation continued, I have upgraded the firmware of new unit unit to the latest firmware update 1.06 (AVICX850.exe), rebooting continues, today I had the canbus unit replaced, unfortunately this has not resolved the problem, the installer wants to just take the unit out and refund my money...I do not want this at all, I believe it is a 'cop out' on behalf of the installer I specifically chose this unit as pioneer is a trusted brand, this unit ticked all the boxes for our requirements in a multi media Satnav unit...has anyone had a similar problem or have any ideas? can you bypass the canbus system and hardwire directly into the accessories loom.

    Hi Btaps,
Yes I can help, But I need you to contact me so that we can discuss the symptoms. I will need you to do some tests for me. Best you PM me and we will exchange details. I will try my best to help you out via remote control. It would be best if I could see the car & unit.

    Cheers

Did the installer leave the oem unit attached but hidden away? Maybe something to do with that?

Thanks for your reply, I am in Melbourne, I'm not sure about what the installer has done only what I posted, don't know if the OEM module was used, I would assume so with the STINGER canbus, I don't have steering wheel controls.

I feel for you, Just spent the morning pulling out the DVD headrests from my old SUV, before I sell it. You pay these guys apprx $500 to install & they do a rushed and S**T job. Disgusted !!!!!!! What a crap job they did in my old SUV & they damaged the connectors to boot ! ARhhg !!!!!

Every time I get the so called professional to do it, I get let down.

That was my rage ! I am calm now
