    Discovery lowers after switch off.

I have been noticing for the past month that post switch off my Discovery has been lowering itself, despite it being in Normal height mode. It does it speratically, sometimes with the door open, but shally when closed. In trying to notice a pattern, but it is just random. Has anyone else experienced this, or have any suggestions?

Depending on how you car is parked it will depend how much it moves it's actually the car leveling out after you've stopped sometimes on a hill I notice the back drop down a fair bit to level, then on the flat the whole car only moves a little bit. From what I hear it wakes up every 12 to 24 hours and relevels it's self. But yeah you will notice if you hop it out levels out then if you remove some heavy bags from the back it relevels again. I'm guessing that's what it is.

    Normal

As Nat 89 and SDB4 said it is how it should be!

Mind you I reckon my car is giving a sigh of relief once my 'mass' is removed!

I suspect that it may be a little more than just "self-levelling".

I stand to be corrected - but I'm pretty sure that the "self-levelling" of the suspension is not meant to happen when a door is open - mine certainly only ever does it when all four doors are closed.

Certainly you cannot change the height of the vehicle yourself when there is a door open - I was also told that the suspension height will not self-adjust if there is a door open - for safety reasons.

Having seen the passenger side door ripped off a Citroen Godess on a high kerb / footpath when the engine was shut off and the suspension lowered - I can understand why.
    Cheers .........

Mine won't move on the buttons but it will self level with the doors open I'm 99% sure it's done it before

Mine does self level when the tail gate is open, but not when doors are open.

Definitely feeling a little less anxious about it, I'll be sure to keep a close eye on it, but after your reassurance I am confident it's nothing I need to contact LR about. Thanks guys.

Mine does it all the time, once turned off, gives off a little fart and settles down for a rest.

Don't know why they do it,but it is normal.
