Question New Disco 3 Member from NE Victoria

Have been a Disco owner since 2006 - have visited site many times -thought time to join.
We have a late 2005 build Disco 3 - over 477,000 on the clock - still running well. Is on second alternator, air conditioning compressor and suspension air compressor, and scrubs tyres relentlessly, but otherwise still as strong as an ox and a pleasure to drive.

Had the unfortunate experience of our tow ball falling out whilst dragging a horse float full of furniture (thankfully not horses). LR solution was to replace the rear half of the vehicle - we opted for a Mitch Hitch, which was also an interesting exercise, and found the supplier most unhelpful when it came to sourcing components to retain towing capacity but end up with the tow ball at a standard height. Also had fun rotating the rear parking sensors - eventually got the angle right.

Currently have lots of water in the front passenger foot-well, which I suspect is due to possible blockage of the Air Conditioning drain - but so far haven't been able to pinpoint the outlet under the vehicle. Could someone point me in the right direction of where to look - do I need to remove some of the underbelly pans to locate it?

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

    Hi Neffie.

There was a thread only recently about a RRS with a similar leak. The culprit was thought to be the A pillar trim. I must admit I thought I had a similar problem but the dealer played around with all the trim and found a blocked air conditioning drain - problem seems to be fixed. But I wouldn't know where that was, sorry. Good luck. My D3, which I only got recently has 220ks on it so good to know they can go as far as yours has.

You have me intrigued, what sort of servicing are you doing to keep it going so well at that mileage. I was worried that my 180k was getting big but I may just keep it longer as it runs like a dream.

Sorry I can't help with the leak.

Congratulations Naffie, what servicing has been done on the gearbox? Auto or Manual?

Thanks for that, but must admit to senility taking over - I had the mileage wrong - it wasn't 477,000 km, its actually 498,224 at the moment .

    Hi Rich,
Just standard servicing by various dealers - its an Auto, and so far, no problems.

Yes, there is a TSB about that issue. It just involves replacing the A pillar covers clips with an updated set.
