No, the centre diff doesn't lock like the D2 and others do.
It does lock however if it won't sustain it.

I'm pretty sure you can Jeff, just need to put it into Rock Crawl, this engages the centre diff.
There's been a couple of guys on here with blown CVs that have limped home doing this.

						From what I have seen Rock Crawl works when the CV can get a bit of traction, when it is completely blown it doesn't work. ie. Jimmy Salsa's Range Rover at the end of the day.
I suspect if you removed the tailshaft entirely it wouldn't co-operate.

I'm assuming it's a haldex clutch acting as the center lock. So its definately a software question as opposed to hardware.
The 200 series can apparently in low range.
