    Reverse Follow Me Home

    Hi all,
We have an 08 D3, and whilst checking the menus in my IIDtool the other day, I came across a follow me home reverse light function. I tried turning it on, and loading the CCF, but no go. Am I doing something wrong, or is it locked out in our market? I reckon it would work well for us, so if I can get it to work, that would be beaut
    Cheers
    Matt

    What is follow me home?

What does a Reverse Follow Me Home light look like?

Where was it at in the CCF file - under Lighting?

For what it is worth, the CCF file is a bit generic in that some of the features listed are for Jaguars and other Land Rover products, not just the 3/4.

I have found in my RRS that to get reverse follow me home to work once enabled that I have to press the Land Rover button on the remote a second time so give that a try.

Took me a while to understand the question. "Reverse follow" Doesn't that make you the leader? But I digress.

I can use the buttons on the key to remotely turn on the reversing lights by two quick presses on the light button. This seems to be a standard function and does not require special activation to enable ie. It is in the manual.

I do not know of a way to activate this automatically with the auto delay headlights.

    I have a D4 HSE MY12

Land Rover button now unlatches rear hatch

I note the above post where the bottom button on the D4 operates the reverse lights for the the follow me home function.

On my 2005 LR3, the button used to operate the headlights per the LR manual instructions below. I used the feature as a Find my 3 in the Dark sort of function.

Also independent of that, the headlights, (not reverse lights however), would remain on when I stopped the engine for a time period set thru the centre display.

Per the manual, the headlights on AFTER engine shutdown feature was set as below:

Headlamp courtesy delay: This facility is programmed by pressing the 'Land Rover’ button and, keeping it pressed, flashing the headlamps. A chime from the instrument panel buzzer will confirm successful programming of the remote’s button.

A short press of the button will now cause the vehicle’s headlamps to illuminate for the length of time specified in Settings, see SELECTING SETTINGS OPTION, 85

A second press of the button after three seconds will deactivate the lamps. A further press, within three seconds, will activate the reverse lamps. A further press will deactivate the headlamps and reverse lamps.

Be this as it may, last month I got the Clock on the Dash software modification to display the time on the message panel between the speedo and the tach.

Now for some reason, when I push the LR button, instead of the headlights going on, the rear hatch unlatches just as if I had squeezed that rubber covered switch above the license plate location.

I am not certain I am pleased at this development but I suppose it is an answer to when the button again corrodes away to useless as I now have another way to get in kind of duplicating the press the interior lock and unlock buttons at the same time - go figure?

The handbook for my car indicates 5 functions are available through the Landrover Button - panic alarm, headlamp, access height, tailgate and tailglass. I have mine set to headlights.

On my car double hitting the Landrover Button does not activate the reverse lamps and it is not an option in the list.

Maybe for overseas markets not ours.
