    DSC Activation

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has had their DSC activate under light cornering, ours seems to activate very easily on any corner at the moment.

Never used too, in fact it took quite a bit of hard cornering to activate, even with the trailer on.

    Any ideas??

    Baz.
    Cheers Baz.

Front lower control arms caused this on mine but only turning in one direction.

Other suspects can be flat tyre, steering angle sensor.

Have you recently had some of the rear suspension apart ? Wheel alignment at the rear could be a suspect.

Morning Baz, I have a post on here somewhere dame thing D3, couple of times I had to turn it off to drive normally down the Range road.
Has not happened now for at least 4 or 5 months so what ever it was seems to have come good. Big trip with the van on coming up so that will test it.
I made inquiries at the dealer and they had no idea except to spend up big and see what eventuated.

Good luck, and no it was not your tyres it was happening before they went on !

Thanks guys, Rob and Rich, tyre pressures are good, that was the first thing I checked.

We have had the front lower control arms replaced and had the right rear axle replaced also, as it seems to be activating the most on left hand bends, and the rear axle has just been replaced in the last week, I'm leaning towards that as the culprit.

Maybe a wheel alignment is in order I think.

    Thanks,

    Baz.
    Cheers Baz.

    DSC Activation

R & R axle means removal or loosening of rear lower arm and track rod fixings which affects alignment so sounds like a logical first place to start (particularly if it's activating turning one direction more than the other). Also could check tightness of retaining bolts and track rod (and condition of track rod bush). Good luck !

sorry guys, could be a stupid question. but isn't the DSC activated all the time. I was on the intention that it needs to be turned off when going on beach.

No it is 'armed' ready for something to trigger it to take the necessary action to so called bring the vehicle under control.

DSC is switched on but not activated - needs some sort of event (usually as sway event) to activate it. Like traction control - is switched on but only activates if it detects wheel spin.

When you are doing any technical 4wd action, DSC should be turned off because if it activates it will cut power to the engine and do other things that could cause a lack of progression. Though even turned off it can still come on with too much use of the go pedal.

For normal road and normal 4wding I leave DSC on - turn off in harder sections and climbing dunes or when bogged.
