If all seals are intact then supposedy it takes about 20 minutes for water to get through - so just make sure all are in place.
My door seals were already gone in my car when i got it and it had only covered 37,000lm and from reading here they do not last long so I never bothered replacing mine.
However if doing a trip liemyou are planning I too would get the door seal replaced - and check the door drains are all clear etc - make sure you do not dislodge the seals to stop water going in.
