I was at Roo Systems a couple of weeks ago. Glen loves his D4, Its good to see a local vendor putting his money into developing mods for the D4.
I wouldn't do a tune on mine simply because I dont think it needs it but a new exhaust in the future thats something a few of us will need and I would do the Roo Systems exhaust over the OEM system.
VW's V10 5.0l diesel in the R version toureg pumps out 850nm and that's a super factory tune so squeezing 800+ out of the 3.0l must be pushing the friendship with mr reliability
I would suggest it is more like 800nm max torque he is getting. You are right he is pushing the drive train to its limit as the auto is only rated for 700nm. As far as the rest of the drive train goes, providing you avoid full throttle in 1st or 2nd gear the transfer box will see less torque than what it would see in first with 600nm, and likewise the drive shafts and diff could see much more in low range, so again this is where the brain needs to play a part so no full throttle in low gears in low range.
ZF are working on the next version of the 8 speed auto to handle 1000nm. And so the development continues....
Rich, glen mentions in the vid that he would put a link in the email to some more footage of him out using the d4, do you have that ?
Nope, just the 3 video's we have seen already nothing else available on the D4 yet.
