I had just turned 50 when I got my D4.

I'm not one of those flash yuppies like Andrew. Still mustn't criticise too much at least he didn't rock up in a black X5.

ABS doesn't use the master cylinder/booster other than as a source of enough fluid to initially apply the brakes, running the ABS pump instead of requiring pedal pressure. Hence the emergency handbrake will do the job if the master cylinder fails providing there is some fluid in the reservoir.

Geez Andy, you have done well and be congratulated for being able to get a D4 before you are 50, I was well over 60 when I got mine, as I always thought they were old farts carriages
