At a guess I'd be saying trade it in on one with a factory sunroofwill probably cost less
Hi All,
just bought a 2013 SDV6 SE in Nara Bronze and I would like to have a sunroof fitted.
My mate keeps telling me I need to go with genuine parts. Can anyone point me in the right direction to have a sunroof installed, thanks.
Regards
Eric

When I was deciding what to order the salesman suggested Prestige Sunroofs in Melbourne. Finished up ordering one with a factory alpine roof so didn't need to go down that path.
Enormous amount of work and not cheap.
A frame gets fitted into the roof tying the structure together.
Had a sunroof installed in my D2 from new by Prestige in Burwood, Melbourne and would recommend them after having no issues at all in the 9 years I owned it.

I have never liked the idea of cutting a hole in the roof of a car. However I did like the idea of the wind in my hair so I bought SWMBO a convertible (Audi A4). Much better solution. My personal opinion is that sun roofs are overrated. My advice would be don't skimp on parts or professional help.

I thought standard practice was to cut the whole steel roof panel out and weld in a factory sunroof roof panel, and install the factory sunroof gear and sunroof interior headlining. Can't think of a decent way to do it on a decent car otherwise. This is what was proposed for my Audi S4 at about $4500. Definitely was not worth that much to me.
I'd like to get the sunroof removed from my P38A! I've turned it off in the software so it can't be opened from the switch panel (it can still be opened with the emergency sunroof T-bar). I don't think the sunroof in my wife's Subaru has ever been opened.
