Paul have a look at this - only posted a few days ago. Yes you will have an issue and pin 5 is the problem.

So to fix/ avoid the problem for this week my simplest solution will be to disconnect the blue wire (pin 5) from the 7 pin flat socket of my led pulse buster therefore not sending any feed to the trailer brakes.

AFAIK if you have the option of mechanical override vs electric, I'd go the mechanical option, especially if it's a hire c/trailer. The blue wire for the electric brakes can be disconnected temporarily at the trailer's plug, as you still need to have lights on the trailer.

I have the Tekonsha P3 electronic controller that needs to be fitted to my D4 SDV6, and I'm aware of the potential electrical issues.
