    Stereo in our D4

The girls are out in the Disco and the stereo has stopped working, has the time displayed but has a blank screen, then as I was typing this, the girls called and said it started working again, but it won't play the iPod through the Aux port now.

We have have the base radio.

    Any ideas would be great.

    Baz.
    Cheers Baz.

Baz - try a hard reset. That was the only thing which made mine come back to life after a similar situation.

Yes, there is a software update which will solve this. Unfortunately the "technicians" could not find any evidence of the problem, so decided for me that it never happened... and did not want to waste their bay plugging mine in to have it loaded.

I've had similar as well, shutdown and restart didn't fix it initially. I left it overnight and it worked the next day.
Hard reset was going to be the next step.

Your battery is a bit low and the car is protecting itself. There should have been a low power indication on the radio first, the radio will come on but not play then the radio does not come on.

Driving for a bit to charge the battery up should bring things back - failing that and if you are happy the battery is up then a hard reset.

All working again, must have needed a run, the battery was 12.4 last time I checked, might need to investigate the software update and in the meantime, keep the battery charged overnight.

We are going away tomorrow, so the car should get a good charge on the drive to our first camp.

Thanks guys, looks like I might need to contact rrturboD when we get back.

I got the low power message on my radio last night and put the car on the smart charger - after 3 hours it still only has 80% capacity so was well down - too many 1.5km trips to Maccas for coffee.

    Stereo in our D4

Do you know what voltage that occurs at Garry ? Mine will throw up odd messages (eg no hdc etc) before I get a low battery message so I take those as my cue to charge.

Sorry Mick no idea - I do not get any messages anywhere other than on the radio - I have been down as low 11.5v with no errors and the car fires up straight away - I doubt at those volts it would crank for long if it didn't fire.
