    As Graeme said.

If you have the twin turbo 3.0 then check to see which drains it has fitted.

    Better keep reading, huh....
I read recently that TDV8 blocked turbo drains can cause grief. I understand that these drains can get blocked in the sump when a 2nd drain plug isn't removed during oil changes. The TDV6 secondary turbo drain doesn't get blocked, only restricted enough to keep some oil at the turbo so that a little gets sucked past the bearings into the inlet tract to cause smoke but never enough for a runaway.

Cheers Graeme, it has another 14 months to run on Allianz so either them or LR can stump up for it.. have printed the TSB and will present it and provide a demo of the blue fog if they wish

I had the smoke issue appear just out of warranty on my SDV6. Tried arguing my case with Land Rover that the problem was design related and should be a warranty fix. They wouldn't come to the party. Anyway, after being stuffed around, the dealer agreed to do the work free of labour. All good now.

Nothing surprises me with LR Australia, even if there is a TSB out ?

If people get issues, might be worth popping over to the rrsport.co.uk site there is a thread run by LR customer relations (corporate not OZ),

For the record my MY12 SDV6 blew too much smoke under a heavy foot since day 1 pretty much. They did the drain thingy, and after that I was happy. Yes it blew some smoke when I tromped it but not too much as far as I was concerned. I come from a 300tdi Defender so perhaps have a different smoke acceptance

Later on LR found a small oil leak and upon fitting a replacement hose noticed something inside the turbo they did not like and the second turbo was replaced. Never saw a whiff of smoke again.

Point being, the drain fix doesn't always fix.
