    10 spoke alloys

    Hi Guys,
Have just spent best part of half an hour painstakingly cleaning the brake dust from over, under and around my alloy wheels and fear the same job could be required again in a fortnight.
I guess there could be an easy way of cleaning that I don't know about.
    Thanks in Advance
    Mark

Grab some Bowden's Own 'Wheely Clean' from your local SCA.

Another good product is ChemTech Mag Shine.

From the same people who make CT18 / CT20.

Apparently the ultimate fix is to install a set of Akebono brake pads which are ceramic based and do not give off the black brake dust. I have a set in the back of my Disco and will have them installed with new rotors next service ................. hopefully these will eliminate the problem.
    Cheers .........

Yeah that stuff is great I've used similar, gets a bit expensive if you do it every couple of weeks.

    Another option is Plastidip:

I only wash my rims once a month now when I used to do it weekly.
And it stops the pitting from brake dust.

I use Trucksteam by Autosmart. It comes in a 20l container lasts ages and use it on the wheels, in the wheel arches and engine bay. The car dealership I used to work for used it and now I just go there directly when I need stuff like interior cleaner and tyre shine. My D2 looks brand new when I detail it!

I reckon if you can't beat 'em....

I changed to black rims too. GOE. I know the dust is still there, but the wheels don't look dirty.

I bought a squirty bottle of rainex for the glass.
Works a treat on the rims, much easier to clean and less black stuff sticking.
