I wouldn't be that concerned about the absence of a rear e-diff - regard it as a nice to have option but not critical. I've survived for a long time without one as have many others. As far as I understand it the D4 has improved traction control over my vehicle on account of having bigger brakes and that the absence of an e-diff is even less noticeable in a D4.
For the trips you are considering, wheel size and fitment of appropriate tyres would be your number one concern. HTH and welcome.
