Thread: D3 engine fault light

D3 manual, the engine fault light comes on after going up steep hill and change into 6th. Stop the car turn off engine and continue journey no further problems. yesterday while towing horse float one horse up cruising at 1750rpm in 5th came to a slight hill, increased throttle and pop up it came, usual procedure stop and restart and continue, it happened again. it only seems to occur in 5th and 6th, local expert does not have an answer.
took vehicle for spin with computer connected and mechanic, made the fault occur, he however was not able to determine what was happening, his only solution was turbo over boost. anyone got any idea, as I am stumped.

The fault will be recorded in the system - did your mechanic read the codes?? that will either provide the answer or where to look.
