    Cruise Chaos (vs Control)

Folks, what are the common causes of cruise control not operating?
Cant find a fuse listed in the owners manual. Hoping for an easy cure (yeh right!)

    Thanks,

A failed brake light switch can cause it.

Thanks all, (even Garycol for sense of humour),

Brake switch / lights working ok, so will check the steering wheel activation switches.

Bit O/T here but Garry, dropped you a line on the GPS thread you started in the "Parking Lot " forum on this site, don't know how often you drop in.
Can't seem to P/M you for some reason.

A hard reset fixed my cruise which was intermittently not working.

Currently working my through the list....

    1. Push right button.

    2. Replace switch module.

    3. Check / replace rotary coupler.

    4. Remove all plugs, spray with electrical contact spray, and pray.

    5. Check Inverter, ECU, wiring between....

Will post when I have a solution.

The plug and socket at the top of the rotary coupler is quite loose so could be prone to losing contact. After finding nothing wrong with my D4's switches I sprayed some contact cleaner into that socket and no problems have since occurred after many months.
