The battery may have an internal break or there could be a bad battery power or earth connection.  Can you cause some current to be drawn, perhaps turning on the headlights and if they operate then try starting the engine?  That might provide pointers to whether there's a bad contact or a failed battery.
When jump-starting was the negative jumper lead connected directly to the battery terminal or to the body?  If to the battery then the current monitor attached to the negative terminal may have been damaged although I don't think that would stop the engine from cranking.
