With Handles - just in case you're 'Chuck Norris' level of 'toughguy' and you need to pick it up and move it.

I think they are meant to be steps and an extension of their grummy rock sliders.
    Cheers,
    Terry

50 cals are usually mounted on Toyotas.
Let me tell you they are scarey; we landed at an abandoned Russian oil field in NE Yemen many years ago, for a comfort stop. We were flying a Pilatus Porter (PC-6) and some guys in a Toyota technical came up to us very agressively and told us to go. They followed us down the runway with the 50 cal pointing at us so we just lifted off and ducked and weaved through the sand hills until we were out of range. The 50 cal has an awful big hole when you are looking down the barrel.

Dam that would be a little tense........ Not sure it would happen in a similar way these days unfortunately.

As for "Tactical" bumbers..... who buys this stuff?

Today they would behead. I was nearly kidnapped there and got out.
There are many technicals in the African failed states. Trust me you keep a very low profile in those countries.

technicals are rather nasty at the best of times, especially when crewed by those types.

Glad that they allowed you to depart, I'll suggest these days you would be appearing on youtube in a orange jumpsuit.

Yes, I am now a little more careful where I work, yet I am sitting in Delhi waiting for a flight to Singapore and back home to normality!!!

I would think so too! At least Delhi is reasonably civilised compared to Yemen.

I worked in airline industry for many years and saw a many a sight so do empathise about the aluminium tube lifestyle.

Singapore the Pan Pax I know very well indeed. Straight up to the executive level, think it was 14th floor, glass of scotch and dry waiting, a club sandwich and literally tucked into bed by a very yummy Singaporean lass.

    Those were the days.

    Take care and safe journeys!
