    Potential problem coolant hose

    Gday All,

Done some jobs on the D3 today and decided may as well clean the Y piece on the intake pipework. Under the front airbox (?) which the intercooler hose connects to is a coolant hose that is very close to the bracket that is used to bolt the airbox to.

This is a picture with the airbox removed and I have placed some clear hose against the bracket and the coolant hose. I did cable tie it after the picture was taken. My hose has just been touching the bracket as I could feel small indents on the back of the hose.
When everything is bolted up you cannot see this hose by eye and it could be a bad result if it does rub thru.

The metal piece sticking up is where the bolt thru the airbox secures it, the base of that bracket is where the hose has just touched and that is what the plastic hose I put there is up against.

    Cheers Ean

    Good to know

There is also another smaller coolant hose that runs very close to the top of the A/C pulley, might only be on later(D4) 2.7 engine?

It is held up by a clip that has a screw that goes into the left hand rocker cover.Mine was loose and the hose was around 2mm from the pulley.

This is the same picture but with it all bolted back up.

The hose is basically hidden from view. You can see it if you look in from the drivers side and if you have small hands you may even be able to check it .

    Cheers Ean
