I used to thing the same thing Tombie....
... until one day after a 4:30am start, a day working in Sydney and a late return flight I found myself at the local BP just after midnight.
Standing in zombie land filling away.... pump clicked off and I looked down and though " why the hell is that handle green :censored:"....
Lucky for me, I'd just put 60 litres into the long range tank and not the main tank.. so filled the main tank with Diesel and next day drained out a 100 litre cocktail ... what a waste
You are right, it is attention to detail, but sometimes **** happens..:(
Glad my lesson turned out to be a lot cheaper than it could have been......
I remember talking to a guy at the LR dealer in Adelaide when the D3 was only a few weeks out on the market.
He was forking over $20k for a new engine and fuel system on his 2 week old D3 TDV6 after his wife fuelled up and then drove (or at least attempted to drive) home...
:)
OUCH:o
My little close call has certainly made me more attentive....no matter how tired I am.:D
My lack of "oops" is probably the reason I'm the Senior Planner at work :D it's all in the details :)
