If we go with one the next thing would be whether to go to the se or the base model,I like the se but is it worth the extra? Thoughts on this anyone?
    Thanks for comments so far.

    The 2.7 D4 is a D3 engine IMO - I am still happy with my D3

Get a drive in the D4 before making a choice.

No, keeping the Sport. We'll never get a better car, but the Disco will now take on GOE duties. After the appropriate mods, of course😎

    Cheers

Funnily enough, I have a set of black 18's, complete with faint provoking muddies 😏

We bought a 6 month old D4 SDV6 last October. As a tow vehicle I can't imagine you could possibly get anything better. Towing a trailer with a bike in it I have to keep checking the mirror to see if the trailer is still there. And even towing our 21 ft van, I try to sit on 100km/h but find I'm continually backing off from 105 or 110, even into head winds it still maintains the same speed, just in 7th instead of 8th gear. If you need to pass something it will easily accelerate to 120 km/ h with the van behind (that's as fast as I want to go with a van attached).
We've had ours 4 1/2 months now and done 10,000 km.
    Absolutely love it.

The D4 is a sensational tow vehicle.

This weekends duties was to tow the Comp Truck 650kms....no sweat at all.

And other weekends the better half needs to lug around her horse float.

Well I brought a MY13 D4 SE from Cairns and drove it back to Bundy a couple of weeks ago now, still fitting it out with all the gear for towing a caravan. Initial impressions are what a car so nice to drive and stacks of power I averaged 94kmh so wasn't sparing the hp fuel averaged 9.7 ltr per hundred by phone app car was about 8.5 so a bit out but still pretty good.
Will give it a good try out when I've picked the van up and go for a run, looking forward to that. Have been lurking on the forum trying to get a handle on all the cars features and where to buy products etc.
Which leads me to ask were the hell do those metal clips go when you pull the drop down panel under the steering wheel, I can not find then so look like buying a couple from LR at $6 ea..
