Tim is very helpful - give him a ring and tell him what you need. He will recommend the best kit for your requirements.

As far as towing goes - I haven't bothered to do anything so far. I don't tow that often, but when I do, the only issue is that the reverse parking sensors detect the trailer / caravan and the beeper goes off whenever you are in reverse. Doesn't bother me as I'm not in reverse that much.

My trailer has all LED lights - all car and trailer lights work properly without any need to turn the headlights on in my case - except that I don't get the flashing "reminder" on the dash to tell me that I've got a trailer connected - but I've got mirrors.

    LED Trailer lights

I fitted a Linear Electronic Design module. Once fitted to the vehicle it takes care of the LED lighting issue no matter what type of caravan or trailer is being towed.

There certainly are cheaper options out there but some have the trailer warning on the dash illuminated all of the time. Not what I wanted.

The only thing I got stuck on was poking the long power cable up through the hole in the firewall above the accelerator pedal. Tried a number of times and after all the blood over everything and the cursing & swearing, decided to wait until my young bloke came visiting later in the day.

He got the bloody thing through the hole first go - took him all of about 5 seconds.
    Cheers .........

Have you had the three differential oils changed?

I put in a rear view camera for the caravan. I went Australian Off Road for the camper rather than your prospective Kimberly. Then you have a good view behind you when towing, and a twin camera gives you a wide angle view for reversing as well. They typically come with a microphone as well, so you can hear your wife telling you to damn well STOPPP!!

As far as the changing for LCD trailer lights, while my beeper sounds when I reverse - you can turn the volume control down, and it goes silent!!! I love that about Land Rover!

I Intend to put a resister into one of indicator circuits on the trailer though, as that is cheap to do and evidently just one circuit with a resistor or even an old fashioned light globe's resistance will tell the Disco the trailer is connected.

The reversing trick if you have (you likely do have it) rear camera is pretty amazing, although when you the think the tow bar is under the trailer, its actually a bit to the side. I need to remind myself which side, and then I will be able to reverse up, and have the tow bar directly underneath first time. Amazing parking aid for attaching a trailer ...

I am looking at getting a full length roof rack. That way i could put tyres up there, even some fluids etc. Are there any alternative to Land Rover for a full length roof rack setup?? How costly is the Land Rover setup? Can you get them cheaper outside of a land rover dealer??
