Most impressed with Snow White's off-road abilities.Abolutely ate the track into West Cape Howe and back,there are some gnarley sections.I only struggled in one section,a sharp left at a T junction that was uphill,I didnt have enough momentum,pus tyres were at 22psi.Got it in 3 attempts where Steve went much quicker did it in one.There was a section where a Praydoo was strugling,deep wombat holes,got it after 3 attempts that Steve saw.Both the D2 and D4 did it with ease.
Was really impressed with the ample power waiting to be used.The paddle gearshift is brilliant off road,the ecu wanted to sit at around 2500 rpm,shifting up a breeze,the same for gearing down on steep descents.

And they eat up the kilometres with ease on the open road too. ;)
Left Melrose about lunch time on Monday and made Ceduna by early evening. Filled up the tanks in Ceduna and left about 8:00am yesterday - home in Kalgoorlie just after 9 last night. Not even tired after the drive. :D
Will work out the actual fuel consumption for the return trip later after I go up the street and fill it up. Pretty impressed (again) though, considering the load in the back and on the roof rack.
You should have come over with us Andrew. Plenty of opportunity to learn how to use the Hot De-caffeinated Coffee button on the dash coming down off the Bridle Track in the Flinders.

Yes big grins indeed for Snow Whites performance. I suspect that Charlie had to work a bit harder to achieve the same result. So its good to see that the Landrover DNA is still intact and improving :):)Quote:

When I was at that car park at Christmas with my D4 and my son's D1 we were parked in a line of 4WD's that went GU Patrol, D1, D4, 100 series, 80 series, Wrangler and Pajero. We, and some of the others parked there took a photo as it was a line up of pretty well all of the recognised brands of 4WD's.
No problems at all on that track or the Muttonbird Beach run and sand dunes where we usually spend a lot of time over Christmas. We always have to rescue a couple of people on the beach, however. Usually because they don't let their tyres down!
I hadn't driven my D4 for over a week as I'd popped a disk in my lower back and I couldn't walk let alone get into a car :( Finally fired her up today and no problems - so comfortable. I had gotten used to the ride and comfort and it was a pleasant surprise to get in and feel the comfort anew again.
