    Angry redarc brake controller in disco 3, please help

    Hello all, hoping that you can help. I have had an auto electrician who obviously doesn't know disco3s install a redarc brake controller in my D3. problem is it doesn't work and I have since found out that he has connected to the plug as if it was a standard 7 pin and is connected based on wire colours eg blue to blue. Does anyone know a good Landrover auto electrian who can sort out the mess and get my controller working? I'm in Fremantle WA and would greatly appreciate help or advice. Alfie

    Hey Alfie,
    Can you adjust the heading to,
    "redarc brake controller in disco 3, please help (W.A Fremantle)"

    This will mean that the WAulrovians can help.

    He has connected the trailer variable voltage supply to the Fog lights. (Blue)
    Obviously not checked it either as it will never work.

    Also check the search forum for the Discovery 3 trailer brakes as there is a write up just for that model. It may pay to print out & take with you.
    Landy Andy may be able to help also.

    I have just searched and found the 2 threads started by Sniegy(and now they are sticky),he is a Land Rover dealer mechanic.They MUST be wired as he describes.
    Try returning to the man who did the job and ask for him to rectify the work.

    Will give you both D3 and D4 fitting instructions IF he is interested.

    Hi Alfie.

    What is your timeline ? If it can wait to the weekend I can probably assist. However if you download the D3 brake controller wiring instructions, any competent auto leckie will be able to sort it, as long as he is prepared to read the instructions and follow them. If you have someone who thinks he knows better, it will be a stuff up.
