Hi Nat, this is quite a common fault with the D2s.
If you parked to close to the entrance of an Amcal chemist, you had the same problems.
I had a set of Sennheiser wireless head phones connected to my TV.
These headphones automatically turned off 15 minutes after the TV was turned off.
It took weeks of annoying problems of not being able to get into my D2, for about 15 minutes, then all of a sudden, everything was fine.
On one occasion, even had a tow truck on it's way to take the D2 back to the dealers.
Finally the penny dropped and I simply turned the head phones off when ever I wanted to get into my D2.
Hi Nat, please don't take this as a Land Rover ONLY problem.
It happens to other makes as well but being as we are LR owners on here, the D2s seem to be the ones effected the most.
It has something to do with the Public Assess radio frequencies.
Most security systems use to use that given band width, things like car security systems, remote controlled roller doors and gates.
Things are a little more restricted now and things don't get locked up as much, but you can still jam the remote keys for most vehicles.
No i certainly wasn't taking it as just a Land Rover problem as my mate was saying from the way the tow truck driver was talking he had heard of it before and it was just limited to LR, I guess he only told me as he has a D2 and i have a D4 so I'm guessing thats why he told me but still very interesting as id never myself heard of it before!!
