Paul congrats on the new rig.
How long/how many D3's did you look at before settling on this one? Was it at a dealer or private?
If you can stretch the budget go the drifta setup they are a very nice piece of kit. Your mod list's sounds good.
Will be good to see a photo of the rhino platform once fitted

Love your choice of car and the year How many KM on yours?

Think about a reversing camera Paul? I have one plugged into a VMS nav unit but not nearly as good as the integrated one on another car I have. I have a good Camera it is just the switch when I put the car into reverse which is a bit slow.

I put leather on my front seats. Auto trimmer did it for me for a price. Don't think many people will be keen on a swap back to cloth. With more D3--D4 wreaking now keep an eye out.

Paul, do you see anything like this under the bonnet?

What model is it - S or SE?

Does it have a single CD player? (Single row of numbered buttons under display and model is CD-400). If so, you can remove it and add a double DIN stereo/DVD/GPS unit if you wish. Let me know if you need more info on this - I upgraded my D3 and know the ins/outs.

    Cheers,
    Rob
Thanks Rob, it is an SE with a single CD unit. A double conversion will be down the track a bit. I'm going to wait until Android Auto becomes more common and a bit cheaper! Do you have a thread on your modifications?

Private sale currently has 240,000 on the clock. More than I would like but it was well in my budget and the precious oowner was meticulous with his maintenance and service history was extremely thorough.
I'm in the process of building the kitchen in the back based around a Drifta set up. I can't justify the cost of the Drifta set ups, but they look fantastic and very well made.

Thank you! I think mine is Zambezi as well, just can't confirm it in any way!

I am hoping one comes up for wrecking however I have spoken to a couple 4x4 guys who prefer the cloth as they slide around on the leather when off roading. Just need to find one of those guys with a black set! Both have been beige so far.

Thank you for the links! I have checked both those areas and can't find a paint code anywhere! I will have a good look tomorrow again and see how I go!

I am also considering a bullbar but still undecided. The car looks fantastic with the tint. I am loving the car. Averaging 12.7L/100 on my daily commute so just experimenting to get that down a bit more.

Note that the steering wheel stereo controls are a LR part, which works with all model LR stereos. You will need to get the steering wheel adapter to suit whatever head unit/DVD/GPS you end up buying. I chose a PAC Audio model but there are other brands available.
