    LED Light bar

I have been looking around for a suitable LED Light Bar to go on our new TDV6 which will shortly have an OL Triple Loop Premium Bullbar fitted.
Got onto a site called Led Light Bars Australia and oh my gosh - there are heaps of different types and configurations and now I am not sure which one I want.
I had in mind that I needed a combination of low spread out light and also a far distance spot light - similar to the Lightforce Genesis 210mm Halogen lights that I currently have on our Patrol. However what length and what power output and how many rows of LED's? Do I need 100w, 120w, 180w or 240w?
The Lightforce lights are 100w which I find a bit on the low side - so I am thinking 120w or 180w and a 20" bar (only because it looks like it will fit neatly in the middle of the bullbar).
So considering these thoughts, the model that looks appealing to me is the Aurora 20" Off Road LED bar 20" 120w Aurora Off road LED light bar (Combo Beam) ALO-20-P4E4B - Led Light Bars Australia, which is claimed to light up the entire forward viewing area - how far though is not stated. Also I couldn't find anything mentioned about how strong the front face of the bar is and what protection there is against stones etc. The Lightforce lights have a very good tough plastic cover that will withstand severe impact.

Now finally to my question - what LED light bar have others fitted to their vehicles and would the Aurora 20" 120w model be adequate, or is there a unit that LR owners recommend over anything else?

Thanks for your assistance in advance.
ps: I decided to go with an LED light bar because it seems to have a more efficient power technology than what I currently have and the output is supposed to be much brighter.

Shop for LED Lighting / Light Bars - Snake Racing

I have a big snake racing LED bar on my roof rack. It is several years old. Honestly I think the light it puts out is amazing but the light from my Disco 3 has better range. My LED bar is helpful when in the bush in some circumstances and also when wanting to see foxes and roos in padlocks as it has a little more spread ( combo spot and flood on my bar).

I would try to look at any you are considering on a night with a non reflective object 1km or more away. Your lights on high beam might beat most LED spot light options.
The lights on my mates patrol are no where near as good as my stock D3 ones!

I would not mount LED spot lights on a new Disco again unless it had more range than the stock High beam, LED flood might be helpful but I would mount them out to the sides not straight ahead next time.

    Other issue:
1-for long range night driving which I do a few times a year is that my LED Light is a little harsh on eyes and often needs to be turned off if approaching any reflective surfaces such as signs.
2- Wiring loom on mine needed to be beefed up!!! Melted a fuse and casing on the one supplied!
3- be very circumspect of the claims made by the sellers

Most LED lights I have tried do give lots of light, but the road is so brightly illuminated close up that it is a bit blinding, and distance vision is swamped by the brightness of the close distance.

I see on ebay that Osram LEDs claim to be genuine spots, but I have not tried them.

Hmmm - lots of food for thought here. May not be as clear a decision as I thought it was going to be.
I now understand why people are still sticking with halogen lights.

Yes. I've got a 40 inch Baja Designs single row LED bar mounted under my roof rack.

Make sure you mount it far enough back to ensure that your bonnet is "in shadow" otherwise the glare off the bonnet will be a pain in the proverbial. I have a Frontrunner full length rack, and the light bar is mounted between the front pair of legs - works perfectly.
    Cheers .........

Do the HID upgrade on your Lightforce spotties, won't need an LED lightbar then

Dad runs a Rigid Industries 40" LED light bar and swears by it reckons he love it and the best one I've seen and I've travelled with a few mates who have them and it seems to be the better one!! But they are made from tough aluminium and bullet proof front cover also all the seals are full made especially for the light and they are screwed every 10" for waterproof!!
