    Useful threads

    Ean,

I found these threads (links below) very useful when I was researching racks and platforms. I ended up going with Rhino tracks and a Rhino Pioneer Platform. Not the cheapest but very flexible with lots of options, eg can put on just roof bars instead of platform rack if that's all you need.

The Pioneer Platform is also very versatile for mounting things for various length trips/expeditions. I'll be mounting a full spare, recovery gear etc for the Cape and I'm still looking at awning options. But in the photo below, it's only lightly loaded for a quick visit to Bribie Island. There's a few good photos in these threads too.

    Hope that helps.

    Regards,

Something to watch out for is it can get a bit tricky if your tracks are a different brand to your bars or rack. It can be done and you will see in the other threads that people have successfully mated LR tracks to Rhino and other brand bars and racks but it's another factor to consider, given that you have a blank canvas.

    Cheers,

The Frontrunner looks the goods for my situation, same as Ean ie awning and tyre carcass maybe also a couple of swags.Liked the look of the Prospeed but unfortunately Mulgo no longer stock them. The Baja rack profile was ok,but the front section looked spindly.
DiscoWA did you buy your Frontrunner11 in WA?

The freight is the killer, almost the price of a swing away spare wheel carrier.
Have heard a local company Jaram in Welshpool, do an aluminium rack looks ok for the moneyTRACKLANDER - 2.1 m Aluminium Removable | Jaram Australia

    Still too heavy

Horses for courses of course; at the moment I'm running rails and 2 Whispbars for my use.

Moving forward will have the Prospeed and Awning mounts, wheel holder and composite floors

    Gday All,

So where do you purchase the roof track from, have done a bit of a search but cant see it sold as a separate item.
