Yes indeed, there's plenty of room in there. Its my fall back position if I decide not to put it outside of the cover.

Judging by all the grooves, notches and scratches under my rear bumper I would hesitate to fix any thing below it. I have exceeded the departure angle many times.(aka dragged my arse). The spare under the car does not afford much protection for the bumper.
My Andersen plug is not fixed to the car body. It is at the end of very thick cable and sits in the rear recess with the other sockets. This gives it some limited flexibility.
If any of you gents recently fitted a new hitch, any chance you want to sell your old factory one?
All the best.
I have added a piece of aluminum plate to which I mounted an Anderson plug, video feed from rear of caravan and extended the 7 pin round plug to be accessable from the rear of the car also I have mounted a Nito air line connector to this plate. We have been on the road with the van for six months sofar and all work well. See an earlier post of mine that has photo's of whar I have done.

Well gents, I have to apologise and admit defeat. I erred on the side of caution and chose the traditional place.
Regardless the input from you all is much appreciated:BigThumb:
