Hopefully Sniegy will respond at some point, but I believe the bonnet sensors are a potential point

Neighbour of mine has a D4 and came to me re his alarm going off randomly, I suggested that the battery could be the problem. He got it tested and replaced and guess what, alarm went off again. His wife is the driver so she is not impressed, anyone have any ideas?

LR or a good diagnositc tool will be able to tell you / him which sensor it is. I had my (D4 MY12) go off very randomly since new. The trigger was the rear passenger door. After replacing the door swich 3 time and not fixing the issue they replaced the door module. No alarms since.

I have had the same issues with my D4 on a couple of occasions. Never had a problem till it went in for a service though so wondering if it was something they have done. It was definitely the bonnet sensor though because when I have tried to lock the car again it has told me that the bonnet is open.
Cheers
