How long will a D4 battery last if...

If I was to leave the D4 locked for 3 weeks would the battery last or should I finally lash out and buy a small solar trickle charger?

Spent 6 weeks in the USA Derek & initially told myself that i will disconnect the
-ve terminal just to be on the safe side.
Ooops, I forgot & returned 7 weeks later & "Snowie" started.

p.s. i would ignition on/off 2 or 3 times before applying the brake pedal to then start the vehicle.

Cheers & Have a great trip ya mongrel.

Just make sure the battery is fully charged before you leave your D4 for any length of time and you should be fine.

Probably the owner. After 3 weeks of no D4 I might forget about the pedal

Pete, I know how much you like cruise ships, so I left that bit out. Don't worry my new camera's arrived so lots of pics when we're on holidays, just so you can feel a little jealous.

I left my MY12 for 8 days and when I went to start it, it read 11.8 at the cig plug and the traxide had isolated. Started just fine. I thought it was a bit poor given two batteries but this has been discussed many times before. I admit it was past due for its monthly ctek top up. Before I went away I think it was reading 12.4 after 12 hours rest.

I was interested to see how it charged on the highway commute. It sat on 15v pretty much the whole way (26km). Also not very scientific but it ran about half a litre per 100km worse than it usually does on that trip at that time of day. I guess that means the alternator is working!

Just for the fuel system. Make sure the filter is full & the lines are primed.
Sitting for that long "may" let the fuel drain away to the tank.

    Cheers
