I have a rubber pad that covers about 2/3rd of the inner driver's side sensor. This makes it less sensitive over all, but it ignores the wheel carrier/spare wheel. The other sensors, the mirrors and the rear camera are enough for me. I should add that about 25-30% of the rear camera view is blocked by the RWC.

I now have a problem with the rear sensors on my MY15 TDV6. I had an OL rear wheel carrier fitted and now when I select Reverse, I get a high pitched tone for a few seconds and then it stops. I don't have to be anywhere near anything for that to happen. However as I get closer to obstacles - I don't get any warning beeps at all. I have just about nudged another vehicle trying to get it to sound, but nothing.
Could the warning system have been messed up when the wheel carrier was fitted?

The long tone is telling you that the reverse sensors are being disabled and only occurs the first time, not giving you a warning any other time.

I refitted my FR RWC recently and at the moment the sensors have not been affected.
