    Rewire D4 12v outlet?

Hi I'm new and would like to ask anyone if it's possible to rewire the d4 luggage 12v outlet to ON only when the engine is active/running.
Thus my 35yo engel doesn't drain the battery in the carpark!

    Welcome aboard.
I think you will find it does cut out slightly after the ignition is off. There are known charging issues with the D4 that need a dealer software upgrade(free).Name your problem, the brains trust will look into it

I checked the 12 volt outlet on my D4 last week with a multimeter. It is only on when the ignition is on.

Yep - I've been running my Engel through an Engel battery pack plugged into the OEM power outlet in the luggage area for a couple of years until I recently installed a Traxide kit and changed the way I run things.

You can run the fridge overnight etc on the additional battery pack without drawing on the vehicle's cranking battery, as the power to the OEM outlet is cut virtually as soon as the engine / ignition is switched off. Same applies to the two outlets in the front of the vehicle.
    Cheers .........
