Fuel filler lock - fuel theft.

I suspect that I am having fuel siphoned from my D4 while it is parked overnight.

It is an MY12 3.0 SDV6 SE, the fuel filler door seems to be able to be opened at any time merely by pushing on it.

Is this correct or are there any after-market locking fuel filler caps available?

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

The fuel filler flap should lock when you activate the central locking.

It doesn't help with your question, but I am reminded of something I saw in a movie years ago.

Someone spent several months secretly adding fuel to the tank of his neighbour's VW Beetle. Apparently the neighbour was obsessed with the fuel consumption of his car and spent a few months boasting about the incredible fuel consumption of his VW.

Then over the next few months, he secretly drained the same amount that he had previously added and was amused by his neighbour's consternation at the dramatic deterioration in his fuel economy.

Maybe someone is messing with your mind. You haven't been boasting to any of your neighbours about how economical the Disco is have you?

    Thats the problem, it doesn't.

I'm wondering if the locking flap is only on the HSE and not the SE and poverty pack?

Mine locks. It's an SE. It's a 2005 though so they probably don't build 'em like they used to.

You don't have keyless entry or something do you?

My standard MY14 TDV6 locks with the central locking.

Open the fuel filler with the car unlocked, observe the locking mechanism half way up on the left side of the opening, then lock the car. You should see the pin pop out to engage the locking hole in the flap support. If the pin does pop out, check that the corresponding hole in the flap support is not broken. If they are both correctly working and whole, check for alignment to make sure that they will engage together.

Or maybe simply try and open the fuel flap after you lock the car

Do you really think I haven't tried that multipe times?

Single locking, double locking, even leaving the tag inside the house and coming out later.
