    Front wheel bearings

Haven't seen them mentioned much around here, just replaced the second one today at 90,000km.

Is this common or is it just mine? 2009 D3.

Just had both right hand side ones done at 135000k.
Seemed odd that both right hand side had gone off, I would have thought the left side would take more punishment. Bloke reckoned the left ones were fine.
Anyway made the car quiet again & fixed some dodgy handling feel.

MY07, 150K. Just replaced the driver side rear, it fell apart when put in the press ! Case was bright blue been a bit hot I think.

Was told at 120K the the passenger front had a little play I should think about it, strangely, have had it to 2 workshops over the rear bearing and both say nothing wrong with the front now ? That includes the one that said it needed doing 20K ago.

    hub bearings replacement

Just just had original front and rear hubs on 2007 D3 replaced at 320,000K's.
I wasn't aware there were any problems, but service people reckoned they all needed changing.
Was a bit put out at the prices they charged for parts, with front hubs at $350ea, and rear bearing kits at $175ea.
The front hubs were just aftermarket Timkin bearings version, which come into Australia at about $150 each with freight. Repairer says he only put 20% mark up on his cost, so looks like somebody is making a good margin bringing in aftermarket parts.

    Hi Andrew,
On my previous D3, I had the front bearings replaced at 132,000km service.

I'm now on 117,000km on my D4 and... no - I won't type it - that would be tempting Murphy to raise his ugly head!

My passenger side front was noisy at 122,000 so I replaced both, easy job, the hardest part was deciding which replacement set to get.

The rears seem to be ok.

    Cheers Ean
