Kaymar rear wheel carrier wing extensions for 3rd party mud flaps

I contacted Kaymar and the mudflaps are available for $275 plus freight.

I gave up, rang them and asked for Nichol, they said they would pass on the message, nothing, so moved on, the ones I made are fine, made some new mudflaps to fit onto the adaptors, all good.

Thanks for your help Greald, guess KAYMAR are not interested that much.

I ordered some. They should arrive next week.
I want have time to install for quite awhile though.

Can send some pics but probably look the same as already posted here.

They arrived this morning.

They look as per a previous pic in the the thread so I will not post any at this stage.

I will once I put them on but that will not be for awhile.

I have some cheap after market ones on at the moment which are not well secured after getting the kaymar bar as you lose one of the screw connectors. I need to take them off before putting on the new ones. Not a lot of work but more than I have time for now.

The rubber sure looks sturdy enough may be as other have said a bit short but will not know until I install them.

Well I got a bit ambitious tonight and thought I would put the new mudflaps on.

After all how hard could that be :)

FYI the mudflaps provided are 270x260 (l x w).

The other thing is the brackets don't line up with the holes in the cayman bar properly.

You can bolt them on but the bracket is not flush/mould with the bar. When I hold the bracket up to the bar it does but the holes in the bracket don't line up then.

I have contacted Kaymar and hopefully it will be sorted out.

There are no instructions but I am guessing where things a bolted together. There are a couple of rubber stoppers I am unsure what they are for.

I should have left this alone as am going away in a couple of days and putting back the old mudflap will be a pain.

Here are some pics.

I have not done up nuts tight but you can see the problem.

This pic shows my install problem more clearly - i think.

I used a bit of card board to make a mask of the end of the kaymar barand then overlaid the mudflap bracket holes with the holes in the end of the kaymar bar.

I have sent this to Kaymar as well.

Note I have a my14 D4 and only got my kaymar installed late last year.

That's not good Richard, even I managed to make mine to line up with the holes and make it flush, mine I made from alloy checker plate I had lying around, used a vice to do the bends, cost me nothing, I bought a square metre of rubber for $45 to make the mud flaps.

Never had any joy dealing with Kaymar.

Yep it is a shame. I am waiting on Kaymar to get back to me.

I thought the problem was fixed, why I ordered them.

I note the some parts of the bracket are a bit different than what has been posted before.

Some one mentioned the bar that holds the mudflap on had 4 holes. It still has 4 holes but is now like a T piece with the 4th hole in the tail of the T piece. The mudflaps are a bit smaller as well based on some one else measurements.

If I hear anything I will post again.

An update - Kaymar have got back to me and will sort it out. Fairly happy with the service I got.

RECOMMENDATION:
If you get a kaymar bar get the mudflaps at the same time if you want them.

I was away for a few months but before I went away and I contacted Kaymar about the mudflaps not fitting

As I was going down to Melbourne when I got back they said to bring my car in and they would sort it out.

I got the new mudflaps today but have not fully installed, just enough to verify they are a better fit.

I compared my old brackets with the new ones and the reason for the problem is clear. It appears one of bits was welded around the wrong way.
The new bracket is the one attached to the flap.

I have to say that even though a mistake was made the guys from Kaymar were very easy to deal with and I am overall happy with the result and service I got.
