Mine was done late 2010. I sucked 200ml of engine oil out of the booster. I put in the catch can as a stopgap measure. Ive been bleeding off the vacuum line everytime I shutdown the engine so have not actually caught any oil in the can. This morning I changed out the pump check valve/spigot and vacuum hoses. Basically repeating the recall operation action. It passed the vacuum holding test. So fingers crossed.

PS Sorry about the thread hijack as this doesnt relate to engine mist- but does relate to the application of a catch can on TDV6

I have had a Provent 200 catch can on my last two diesel vehicles. Highly recommend it. Oil stays really clean and helps protect the engine.

What vehicles?

Hi Tombie,
Have one on my current JGC. My mechanic has one on his Prado and swears by it.

Doesn't matter what brand the vehicle is, the Provent does the same thing.

I know what they do :) I fitted one to the TD5..

Whilst I can not disable the EGR on the TDV6 I certainly won't be worrying about it. The CCVS is not the cause of any issues in the TDV6...

An Isuzu truck at work has a factory catch can,similar dia to what we used,half the height,so size vs engine capacity isnt an argument.

Hey Andy... So glad I saw this post!! I have religiously been reading your thread on installing the Provent 200 when I stumbled on this one! Ill get the smaller one then. Painful thing is they are the same price!! Glad to hear you have a D4 too. In 15 years when I have one Ill be reading your posts about them! [biggrin]
