I had them on both my TD5s,they do a very good job of collecting oil mist and returning it to the sump.

Does the 2.7 vent to the turbo intake or IC intake? If so diverting the oil mist might help the turbo or IC but probably not the EGR. But I'm no mechanic.

The Pro-Vents we used on the TD5s were overkill.A few weeks ago I saw a thread on another website where they had fitted a much smaller version to a korean diesel. It was a Pro-Vent,1/3 the height and smaller diameter than the ones we all used on the TD5s.Much better fitting options due to its size.
An Isuzu truck at work has a factory catch can, similar dia to what we used, half the height,so size vs engine capacity isnt an argument.
If my D4 wasnt under warranty I would fit one,if I could get it in writing that it wouldnt effect my warranty(never going to happen) I would fit one.

Iv just installed a catch can on the brake booster vacuum line as a temporary solution while a sort out oil building up in the booster.
Yes its already had the recall done. Going to install a new vacuum spigot valve and tubes kit which arrived today.

    Different issue.
The Pro-Vent is used to filter blow by gasses and return oil mist to the sump.It prevents the oil mist falling out of suspension in the intercooler and becoming oil again which builds up in the intercooler, also prevents oil carbonising in the turbo.
They work exceptionally well on the TD5 motor, all turbo diesels should have them.

Had a look in my modified PO17 recall vacuum pipe today and could not find any trace of migrating oil .
