Thread: BMW rims with 265/70/17 D697, & will spare fit?

Hi all. Am in the final stages of tyre selection, looking at D697s in 265/70/17, which according to the D3/4 FAQ thread will fit.

Has anyone used these tyres (preferably on BMW rims, but not critical) on a D3 running 17" rims without issue? And will the spare fit underneath without deflating it?

Had this size on my D3 and yes they fit, spare was tight, the Cooper ST's were a snug fit in the spare, the Maxxis Bighorns had to be deflated. Also had both D3 17's and BMW 17's. The BMW rims have more off set, so I feel suit the larger size tyre. Now using them on my RRS, but have a 3/4 length roof rack, so put the spare on top and don't worry about removing the stock one from underneath.
