    Hankook 255/55 r19 cost

I want to replace my tyres on my D4 and I am looking at the hankook dynapro rf10 ATM Hankooks -255/55 r19

Local JAX In the Act used to have them but they don't seem to be advertised any more

So what are people paying for their Hankooks and where did you get them.

    Thanks for any help

I was after some just recently. 255/55/19 was out of stock. Not on Jax web site but on my second visit got them to ring supplier. 3-8 weeks delay ie shipment expected from factory but not left yet. That was two weeks ago. I went with Goodyear wrangler Duratech @ $440 from tyresales as I was about to leave.

    Thanks mate.

I am thinking of ordering 6 as want a second spare when travelling. Unfortunately I don't have a 6th rim but have the extra spare better than nothing. I will have a look around but do not want to spend a lot on it.

When I cut over I will have an unused OEM wrangler available. Any one want to make an offer for it .

    I swapped all 5 tyres.

Have the same problem with the OEMs. They have only done 4500k.
    Nobody seems to want them.

My approach. ..I have kept the OEMs and will swap back to the OEMs after the trip to wear them out. Don't need the ATs in town...

    Cheers

Mine are around 42,000km an a bit stuffed. One even has a nail I it 😁. The spare has never been used.

I don't have the room to keep them any way. I tried keeping the OEMs on a previous car so I could do what you mentioned. They take up a lot of room and I was continually moving them around.
Unless you can swap the tyres yourself you may find it will cost a bit to get them swapped over.

If I get six my plan would be to try and rotate the 6 around but that would mean haveing them take a tyre off and putting one on each time.
May be more trouble than it is worth.

I had thought of keeping the original spare as my second spare but if I got down to having to use the second spare running a tyre like that with the others may not be good.

Well, at least you got go wear out the OEMs. At 42k would expect them to be at the end of their live...

I asked about the cost of swapping... about 100 dollars.. better than throwing away almost new tyres. ..

I am currently preparing for a trip to Birdsville and thought about taking one as a second spare, but can't find the space for it...

Yep we are kicking around the idea of a trip that way as well.
I am unsure if you can use the OEM wrangler as a second spare when running Hankooks else where. Does any one know?

Like you finding space is the problem. I was planning on taking only the tyre and could put it on the roof I suppose.

I must be getting old, I asked the question about mixing tyres last year but did not get an answer as the thread got side tracked about space saver type tyres instead of what I wanted to know.

Mixing tyres is a BIG no-no. However, if it were to allow me to limp to back to civilisation I would consider it.

    Cheers
