    Spare Wheel Winder

    I guys.... (and gals)

I have taken apart the spare wheel winding mechanism as it died after getting the car serviced.... Obviously they used a rattle gun to work the mechanism after they rotated the wheels and caused damage....

I can't see anything wrong, but assume its the plastic teeth, just worn to excess.
Anyone found a solution to this or know where i can get a replacement without paying stealer pricing ?

    Cheers

Similar result discussed in previous threads. It was usually because the cable got twisted. Suggestions were varied but one was to take it back to the service guy and ask for it to be replaced at their cost as they broke it. You can only ask the question. You never know they may pay all or part of the cost.

Was the car returned to you with the spare under the car correctly stowed or did the service people admit they broke it?

Hey guys mine did it to me with no abuse what so ever, I drilled out the spot welds then checked it and it was fine internally just **** made. So I held in vice to I found a place where it worked, which was offset to standard a little then re welded it. Works fine

it's always five o clock somewhere
