Thread: D3 Safari install Q

hi all,

Looking to purchase an original safari snorkel for the D3, have previous experience fitting on D2 & D2a. Just wondering whether you really need to cut the inner guard for access. could you not connect the associated piping and attach to air cleaner elbow as one piece outside (may have to lengthen pipe) then insert in behind inner guard ? surely there could be another way to keeping the original inner guard untouched. many thx

I don't think there would be a way of doing what you propose - unless you used the original in-guard ducting and made an adapter for the back of the snorkel. Then you would also have to remove the ducting beforehand and waterproof the elbow, where it goes into the airbox.
