Just for the record, is there any way apart from calling a dealer, that this and other recalls can be checked? Is Topix a 100% reliable source for this, whereby if it states "There are currently no outstanding Field Service Actions for this vehicle" we can be totally assured that all recalls including this one have been done?
Dealers are required to fit recal notice stickers inside the drivers door frame when a recal is done.If there is no sticker consider that it probably hasnt been done.If the stickers come off they usually leave the backing behind so you can see if they have been removed.(my 4 on the D2 eventually did when they deterioated with age)
The sticker states the recall action number that you can check on the government website that lists all recalls.

Lucky all were ok.
The viral crap on Facebook about this is pathetic.
Hi Bob,
Similar feelings my friend, I lost my D3 to the red menace, 05 D3 TDV6, suspected fuel pump problem, either that or electrical, started in roughly the same area as your by the looks of things.
Insurance did the right thing. Now made the melted aluminium patch from the bonnet that melted onto the floor into a clock.
Mine was an S model, tempered the springs so the suspension collapsed and they couldn't get enough water onto the gearbox, took three hours and a couple of ruck loads of water to get the heat out of the magnesium in the gearbox casing
So I've found this thread so I went and had a look at my new (to me) disco 3.
Can't find any recall stickers, nor is there anything filled in the service book under the recall sections (even tho there was all the service info up to date when I bought it as I purchased off the original owner).
I can't get ToPix to work - do I have to subscribe?
Otherwise I'll just have to head down to the LR dealer tomorrow, I have a 9,000kms round trip starting in 2 weeks so I'm pretty keen to make sure it's sorted out before then!!!
You have to register to get Topix, shouldnt need to subscribe(ie pay).It is a bit troublesome to use from time to time so try again.
Get the dealer to show you the vehicle history on their computer, there should be no charge. If the recall was never done they are still obliged to do it.

The hard part about this is when you look up the engine numbers in the recall mine is in them. But 3 times I have contacted Land Rover and they say mine is not effected by recall and have said that some above and below my engine No are effected. Mine is a MY8.5. It is a worry because of no warning sometimes when they let go
