    Dash removal - stereo access

    Hi all

Im wanting to access the rear of my stereo - my radio reception is awful so I want to check the connections at the back.

Now I've seen this video in reference to a D3, is the D4 the same? Im scared of breaking stuff so any guidance would be appreciated.

    Quite different...

Centre console undone, pull back, side panels either side of dash (careful of the start button wiring), plate above controls/below screen...

Suggest Topix and download the instructions...

Tombie is right of course, as usual - TopiX instructions are the best.

This is a reasonable set of instructions for D4 with gear handle/knob (not dial):

and this: DISCO3.CO.UK - View topic - D4 sat nav removal

    Is TOPIX subscription only?

    Cheers

    radio reception

    Rambada,
I had AM reception problems, (lots of noise and static) on my 2005 D3 and lately with my 2011 D4. I had removed the cover on the D3 and checked the aerial connections, all ok but still had intermittent static. A hard thump on the top of the cover was necessary to restore normal reception.
With the D4 the thump has to be directed to the area on the left between the Radio on/off button above and the passenger aircon temperature select button underneath. I live in a regional area but the FM reception is always good. No harm in having a bash!
    cheers Jim

If you check out Dave's 'shop' , a disc with the workshop manual including how to remove and replace just about anything is available.

Thanks all, I'll have a look at Topix & Dave's 'shop' (where is Dave's shop?). Didn't realize Topix had these sorts of things. May be worthy of a subscription.

Meanwhile I'll try the Fonzy approach and give it a thump

    Poor Radio Reception

    Hi,
I live in a regional area with weak radio reception, and was wondering if there was any after market aerial which can be fitted to the Disco 3 to improve reception? I have an after market pioneer system fitted and have checked the connections at the back. I believe the aerial is in the rear glass on the Disco?? Any help would be great.
    Thanks
    Pete
