Land Rover Discovery 3 SE Tyres

Ashley do you really want to drive on MT all the time? I would (and did) buy 17inch BMW rims for next to nothing. Use the much bigger range of MT rubber and leave road rubber on the 18s.

If your really in need of MT all the time fine but if not the noise hit and low on road traction read as safety make me put the 17 MTs on when needed. It only takes 30 -40 minutes to change 4 wheels for me and less if I can get the kids to help:)

I will be using them a lot but I am leaning towards buying a set of 17 inch rims for the MT so I will still have my original 18 inch rims there and if I know I won't be needing the MT's I will definitely be changing them over.

I think so yes, it is wise if you are planning to do any offroad stuff that is more than moderate, to have the rods or LLAMS system, they will help you immensely.

These do though, PM ~rich~ on what you need to do to fit the 285/60/18s if you go that way, or click on the link to find out.

The MAXXIS will require rods as stated below.

Cooper Zeon LTZ 285/60R18 (requires slight modification to fit)

Maxxis Bighorn MT LT275/65R18 (requires HS shortened rods + modification to fit)

Those rims and tyres are well priced, but make sure the centre hole is big enough to fit your D3.

Hey all, realise this is an old thread but it is specific to my question.
I found a set of X5 18”x8.5” star pattern, 5x120’s. Given these are the same dimensions as rims the Disco 3 SE came with, I assume these would also fit OK?
Anyone have any experience with these?
I gather you’d still need the Gorilla 15x1.5 3/16 acorn 21mm lug nuts?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Why waste your time with those when factory 18's are cheap enough.

Can we go a narrower tyre like 245 with a high sidewall say 75 to prevent the rubbing? Rubbing seems to be influenced by width.
