Thank you for your help everyone, just another quick question.
What exact adjustments would I have to make to fit larger tyres on? Would it be possible to fit 305's with the correct adjustments? Sorry I don't know much about this and I appreciate all the help given.

Never heard of anyone fitting 305's. They're simply too big. As with anything, as soon as you start modifying something you will be making compromises elsewhere to compensate for it. Be aware that wheels larger than 800mm diameter will most likely require a suspension lift to avoid rubbing. Also, with oversize tyres larger than 800mm, if you have an air suspension failure the car will drop to the stops and the vehicle can become physically immobilised by sitting on the tyre. Not a desirable situation if touring in the outback.

If you are touring on 18" rims, stick with either 265/60R18, 265/65R18 or 285/60R18 tyres.

If you are just wanting an oversized tyre to fit for weekend shenanigans, have read here about 275/65R18 oversized mud tyres and the required modifications:

There is also Gordon's info on the earlier link I posted on how to modify your car to fit 275/65R18 tyres.

Wide rubber takes a shed load more fuel to drive, rub and increases turning circle.

I have merged both your threads Ashley, one of those subjects that could have been answered with just one thread.

Fairly certain Amarok rims will fit.
    These ones will definitely fit:

Amarok rims will not fit a D3 or D4, centre hole is too small, 65mm for the Amarok, 73mm for the D3/D4/RRS, D3/D4 steel rims will fit the Amarok as long as they are not alloy rims, alloy are centralised by the centre hole, steel rims are not.

If you want steel rims for your D3/D4/RRS, you need to buy the specific rims for the D3/D4/RRS, or make sure the centre hole is 73mm as a minimum and make sure the load rating for the rims are suited to the D3/D4.

We have an Amarok in the family, it's our daughters car.

You're so helpful Baz it's honestly so good to have you help out. That list provided on green oval experience I assume the one that's says it fits that they fit without any sort of lift?
