			2010 2.7 D4

My first D4 is coming up to 1 year ownership with me and so far, it has exceeded all my expectations (My last 3 cars were 2 X D2 and 1 X D1 previous).

I was very fortunate to find it locally and it had been completely set up with close to $30K of off-road accessories by the former owner who bless him, had it on his bucket list to own a very well set up 4WD. It really has everything and then some, to get off-road and dirty including a spare set of rims that improves off-road tyre choice, long-range fuel tank, bull-bar and 12Kkg winch, snorkel, foxwing.....the list goes on for pages.

Unfortunately the former owner passed away without actually getting to do what he planned with the vehicle and it sat garaged for over 2 years by the time I found it with just 52K's on it.

All I've done to it is fit a light bar to improve the excellent headlights, fitted a custom made steel protection plate for the air-compressor and got an ECU upgrade and that's it!.....Oh yeah, I ditched the horrible "plough" tow bar and got a Mitchell Bros hitch to pull the Camper trailer.

It's taken us up to the Cape through mid-west QLD pulling the trailer and back down south via the coast. I've taken it up and around my backyard (Snowy & Vic highlands) through flooded rivers, deep mud and hang-on-tight steep ascents and descents without any issues whatsoever.
I'm so impressed with this exceptionally capable off-road vehicle. It really makes my last D2 that I had built for war look and perform like a draught-horse in comparison. The ECU upgrade has improved the performance of the single turbo and I have no need for more speed or torque to pull the trailer.

Upcoming additions to improve longevity will be a steel-pan replacement for the auto-trans and quality polythene front bush's. I've just replaced the soft EU fitted discs with some DBA discs made of real steel matched to ceramic pads.

I'm preaching to the converted I know but having Land Rover green blood and just looking at the D4 in the driveway waiting for me to take it for a drive....I wanted to share!
