Good LR Indy on the Gold Coast

    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good Indy Mechanic on the Gold Coast. Looks like I might be up for new pads and rotors (rough quote is $1700). Thought a quick comparison was in order.

Could also be a good opportunity to go for some dustless jobs mentioned here. The Disco has done circa 26k's, which seems low considering it hasn't done any serious off road as yet.

Thanks for any advice in advance.

26K Km is very low to require pads and rotors. I assume your driving style is not to try and pull the car up in the shortest possible distance from the fastest possible speed every time you want to stop.

I would expect pads to last at least 40K km and rotors at least 80K km, all dependent on driving style of course.

My first pad change was at 80K km, rotors have not yet been done at 160K km. My driving consists of a lot of highway KMs though.

Get some one to actually check the state of the pads and rotors to see of they really need doing.
    Cheers,

Hi all. Thanks for the replies so far. Car has done 23k's, not 26, so super low. I'll be getting LR to quote first. We certainly don't drive it like we stole it. Car does more city than highway and more highway than country, but 23 still seems low.

I read about akebono pads and rotors on this forum. Anyone with experience of these with a disco 4? Seem like good quality and low dust which is a bonus.

Reading the link p38arovers link, seems like Ricks 4x4 might be the go? Otherwise a brake specialist local to the GC maybe? If pads and or rotors really are pooched at 23 k, after market would have to go on the short list...
