My boy is the engineer, plus he also manages the coins on the UWA engineers racecar he helps build,he is the "chassis team leader".
He could sit there for hours and hours machining away on a lathe and produce the same product at a lot greater cost,or he can get the 3 bits laser cut from one of his teams sponsors then tig weld them together.
    Seems simple to me

    Hi Andrew.

Make me a definite buy rather than just interested.

Thanks for going to this trouble for all of us.

Does the Kincrome have sufficient lift?

Please do more research before purchasing any of these as it is my firm belief that only a two-stage jack has a sufficient stoke to lift the D3/D4 via the chassis.

There are really only three important facts to consider
    1. sufficient load rating (2000kg is enough)
    2. short enough to fit under chassis with tyre deflated, and
    3. long enough stroke to lift under chassis and fit an inflated tyre

The screw section is only of use in the first step - ie getting it under the chassis, after which it is only the stroke that is important.

Here is a much better alternative -
    BST2000 Omega Jack
available from Blackwoods for approx $115 (less if you have an account)
    2000kg telescopic 2 stroke
    Min height 181mm
    Max height 442mm
    Stroke 201
    Screw goes up 60mm

Several threads refer to this jack including http://www.aulro.com/afvb/d3-d4-rrs/...ion-sorts.html .

Also Merc Sprinter jacks have been used but they are difficult to obtain and taller than the Omega to start with.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi folks,

Following on from post above... Sorry if this question has been addressed but if it has, I can't find it. A bit confused. Based on the minimum lift requirement of 170mm from the other thread referenced above this 6T Kincrome will fall short, won't it? 'cos you (obviously) can't use the screw out top once under load.

Kincrome Hydraulic Bottle Jack 6000KG #K12052
    FEATURES & SPECIFICATIONS
    ? Capacity : 6000KG
    ? Weight : 5.2KG
    ? Hydraulic Lift: 125mm
    ? Screw Extension : 70mm
    ? Overall Height Closed : 200mm
    ? Overall Height Open : 395mm
    ? Base Area: 169mm?
    ? Standard : AS/NZ 2693:2007
    ? Capacity : 6000KG
    ? Weight : 5.05KG
    ? Hydraulic Lift : 125MM
    ? Screw Extension : 80MM
    ? Overall Height Closed : 200MM
    ? Overall Height Open : 405mm
    ? Base Area : 120 x 115MM

So we should buy the Omega or similar dual stage jack instead?

    Thanks,
    David

I believe the simple answer to your question David is you need approx 200mm of stroke to lift a D4, which the Kincrome 6T jack does not have. I believe only a dual stage jack like the Omega will deliver this stroke length.

That is not to say that the adapter being the subject of this thread is not applicable to the Omega jack as well....

    Thanks Chris,

Oh well, guess I'll be well set for bottle jacks then. Already ordered the Kincrome and it's on its way. Have now ordered an Omega from Blackwoods. hmm Good news is that as per Richard's post below this adapter still may suit.

So if they have catered for 28mm it will fit.

The Jack head is actually 30mm,adapter will be 30.5mm internal with a set screw Im told.Measured a few jacks at the depot today, all seemed to share the same 30mm head,so it will fit others.
